Abstract

The harvested area of shelled maize in 2025 reached 2.71 million hectares, representing an increase of 0.16 million hectares or 6.35 percent compared to the 2024 harvested area of 2.55 million hectares.
Production of dry-shelled maize at 14 percent moisture content in 2025 totaled 16.16 million tons, up by 1.02 million tons or 6.74 percent from the 15.14 million tons recorded in 2024.
The potential harvested area for shelled maize in the January–March 2026 period is estimated at 0.86 million hectares, with the potential production of dry-shelled maize at 14 percent moisture content projected to reach 4.94 million tons during the same period.
