Abstract

  • According to the result of National Labour Force Survey (Sakernas), total labour force in February 2024 was 149.38 million people, representing an increase of 2.76 million people compared to February 2023. Similarly, the labour force participation rate also increased by 0.50 percentage points from February 2023.
  • Compared to February 2023, the number of employed people in February 2024 rose by 3.55 million people, to 142.18 million people. Regarding the type of industry, Accommodation and Food Service Activities experienced the largest increase in the number of workers (0.96 million people).
  • As many as 58.05 million people (40.83 per cent) in February 2024 were engaged in formal activities, representing an increase of 0.95 percentage points compared to February 2023.
  • Underemployment rate in February 2024 increased by 1.61 percentage points, while voluntary part-time employment rate decreased by 0.73 percentage points compared to February 2023.
  • The number of commuter workers in February 2024 was 7.13 million people, representing a decrease of approximately 0.05 million people compared to February 2023.
  • The unemployment rate in February 2024 stood at 4.82 per cent, a decrease by 0.63 percentage points from February 2023.
