Abstract

  • Indonesia’s economy based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices in the second quarter of 2023 reached IDR5,226.7 trillion and at constant prices (2010) reached IDR3,075.7 trillion.
  • Indonesia’s economy in the second quarter of 2023 grew by 3.86 percent compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q). From the production side, Public Administration and Defence; Compulsory Social Security experienced the highest growth at 15.80 percent. Meanwhile on the expenditure side, General Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GGFCE) component experienced the highest growth at 41.30 percent.
  • Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.17 percent in the second quarter of 2023, compared to the second quarter in 2022 (y-on-y). From production side, Transportation and Storage experienced the highest growth at 15.28 percent. Meanwhile on the expenditure side, GGFCE experienced the highest growth at 10.62 percent.
  • Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.11 percent in the first semester of 2023, compared to the first semester in 2022 (c-to-c). From production side, Transportation and Storage experienced the highest growth at 15.59 percent. Meanwhile on the expenditure side, GGFCE experienced the highest growth at 7.53 percent.
  • Spatially, the Indonesian economy in the second quarter of 2023 shows strengthening in several regions. The group of provinces on Jawa Island is the main contributor to the national economy with a share of 57.27 percent and recorded a growth rate of 5.18 percent (y-on-y) compared to quarter 2-2022.
