Abstract

  • FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In July 2023, national FTT was 110.64 or increased by 0.21 percent compared with that in June 2023. The increase in FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.34 percent, higher than the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) rose at 0.13 percent.
  • In July 2023, Sulawesi Barat Province experienced the highest increase in FTT at 2.27 percent. On the other hand, Maluku Utara Province had the highest decrease in FTT at 2.13 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in July 2023 increased by 0.14 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in most of the indexes of expenditure groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (ATT) was 111.41 in July 2023 or increased by 0.27 percent compared with June 2023.
  • There were 1,684 paddy sales transactions recorded in 27 provinces during July 2023. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 61.88 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 23.22 percent, and the other quality 14.90 percent.
  • In July 2023, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp5,629 per kg, or increased by 1.55 percent, and the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp5,764 per kg, or increased by 1.61 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in June 2023. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp6,389 per kg, or increased by 0.75 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp6,506 per kg, or increased by 0.70 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp5,424 per kg, or increased by 1.61 percent. While at the huller level was Rp5,569 per kg, or increased by 2.12 percent.
  • Compared to July 2022, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in July 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 23.19 percent, 22.62 percent, and 26.00 percent, respectively. At the huller level, the average price of paddy in July 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 23.10 percent, 22.22 percent, and 26.22 percent, respectively.
  • In July 2023, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,091 observations from 879 milling businesses.
  • Compared to June 2023, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level in July 2023 was Rp11,537 per kg, or increased by 0.11 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp11,121 per kg, or increased by 0.37 percent, and the average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp10,303 per kg, or decreased by 0.12 percent.
  • Compared to the July 2022, the average price of rice at the huller level in July 2023 for premium, medium, and the other quality increased by 19.83 percent, 22.31 percent, and 15.69 percent, respectively.
