Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in June 2023 was 3.52 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.00. The highest inflation saw in Ambon at 6.10 percent each with a CPI of 118.67, while the lowest saw in Gunungsitoli at 1.01 percent with a CPI of 114.79.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in most of the expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 2.85 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1.47 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 2.49 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 2.57 percent; Health Group of 2.58 percent; Transport Group of 10.18 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 2.17 percent; Education Group of 2.75 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 3.27 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 4.27 percent. On the other hand, Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group recorded a deflation of 0.23 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in June 2023 was 0.14 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation in June 2023 was 1.24 percent.
For the Core Component, the y-on-y inflation rate in June 2023 was 2.58 percent, the m-to-m inflation rate was 0.12 percent, and the y-to-d inflation rate was 1.06 percent.
