Abstract

  • FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In April 2023, national FTT was 110.58 or decreased by 0.24 percent compared with that in March 2023. The decrease in FTT was due to the decrease in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.12 percent, while the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) rose at 0.13 percent.
  • In April 2023, Riau Province experienced the highest decrease in FTT at 2.42 percent. On the other hand, Sumatera Selatan Province had the highest increase in FTT at 1.50 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in April 2023 increased by 0.14 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in all of the indexes of expenditure groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 110.92 in April 2023 or decreased by 0.24 percent compared with March 2023.
  • There were 2,236 paddy sales transactions recorded in 26 provinces during April 2023. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 70.57 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 18.43 percent, and the other quality 11.00 percent.
  • In April 2023, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp5,401 per kg, or increased by 2.40 percent, and the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp5,524 per kg, or increased by 2.25 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in March 2023. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp6,105 per kg, or increased by 0.90 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp6,220 per kg, or increased by 0.68 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp5,289 per kg, or increased by 5.47 percent. While at the huller level was Rp5,391 per kg, or increased by 4.96 percent.
  • Compared to April 2022, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in April 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 23.62 percent, 20.32 percent, and 26.07 percent, respectively. At the huller level, the average price of paddy in April 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 23.26 percent, 19.77 percent, and 25.69 percent, respectively.
  • In April 2023, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,161 observations from 895 milling businesses.
  • Compared to March 2023, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level in April 2023 was Rp11,672 per kg, or decreased by 0.08 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp11,050 per kg, or decreased by 0.65 percent, and the average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp10,565 per kg, or increased by 0.85 percent.
  • Compared to the April 2022, the average price of rice at the huller level in April 2023 for premium, medium, and the other quality increased by 21.88 percent, 21.37 percent, and 19.33 percent, respectively.
