Abstract

  • FTT is ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In March 2023, national FTT was 110.85 or increased by 0.29 percent compared with that in February 2023. The increase of FTT was due to the increase in index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.53 percent higher than the increase in index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.24 percent.
  • In March 2023, Riau Province experienced the highest increase of FTT at 4.35 percent. On the other hand, Banten Province had the highest decrease of FTT at 1.67 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in March 2023 increased by 0.29 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in mostly of the indexes of expenditure groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 111.18 in March 2023 or increased by 0.40 percent compared with February 2023.
  • There were 2,334 paddy sales transactions recorded in 26 provinces during March 2023. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 67.44 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 17.56 percent, and the other quality 15.00 percent.
  • In March 2023, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp5,274 per kg, or decreased by 7.65 percent, and the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp5,403 per kg, or decreased by 7.74 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in February 2023. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp6,051 per kg, or decreased by 5.99 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp6,178 per kg, or decreased by 5.78 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp5,015 per kg, or decreased by 7.68 percent. While at the huller level was Rp5,136 per kg, or decreased by 7.45 percent.
  • Compared to March 2022, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in March 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 15.41 percent, 13.10 percent, and 17.80 percent, respectively. At the huller level, the average price of paddy in March 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 14.85 percent, 12.87 percent, and 17.35 percent, respectively.
  • In March 2023, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,134 observations from 876 milling businesses.
  • Compared to February 2023, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level in March 2023 was Rp11,681 per kg, or decreased by 1.16 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp11,122 per kg, or decreased by 1.58 percent, and the average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp10,476 per kg, or increased by 0.08 percent.
  • Compared to the March 2022, the average price of rice at the huller level in March 2023 for premium, medium, and the other quality increased by 19.36 percent, 19.29 percent, and 15.61 percent, respectively.
