A. Tourism Progress

• In December 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals to Indonesia was 895.12 thousand, dramatically increasing by 447.08 percent compared with December 2021. In the meantime, international visitor arrivals in December 2022 increased by 36.19 percent compared with the previous month.
• From January to December 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals to Indonesia was 5.47 million, which increased by 251.28 percent over the same period in 2021.
• The room occupancy rate of classified hotels in December 2022 was 56.90 percent, an increase of 5.33 percentage points from December 2021. Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate in December 2022 increased by 2.49 percentage points compared with November 2022. On the other hand, the room occupancy rate of non-classified hotels in December 2022 was 26.45 percent, which increased by 1.88 percentage points from December 2021 and increased by 2.41 percentage points from November 2022.
• The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at classified hotels during December 2022 was 1.62 days, which increased by 0.01 points compared with December 2021. While compared with the previous month, the average length of stay in December 2022 decreased by 0.08 points.

B. Growth of National Transport

• The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in December 2022 was 5.3 million and increased by 14.26 percent compared to November 2022. The number of international air transport passengers increased by 14.87 percent to 1.1 million. From January to December 2022, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 52.6 million and increased by 74.81 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 7.1 million and increased by 1,030.86 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
• The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in December 2022 was recorded at 1.7 million, increasing by 13.05 percent compared to November 2022. The freight transported by domestic sea decreased by 2.49 percent, turning 26.9 million tons. From January to December 2022, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 17.8 million and increased by 18.85 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, the amount of freight increased by 2.44 percent, reaching 320.6 million tons.
• The number of railway passengers departing in December 2022 was 29.8 million people, which increased by 10.77 percent compared to November 2022. Furthermore, freight transported by train increased by 8.87 percent to 5.8 million tons. The number of passengers reached 277.1 million from January to December 2022 and increased by 85.04 percent compared to the same period in 2021. On the other hand, the cumulative amount of freight transported by train rose by 15.41 percent to 61.9 million tons.
