Abstract

A. EXPORTS
  • The value of Indonesia’s exports in November 2022 reached US$24.12 billion, decreased 2.46 percent compared to exports in October 2022 but increased 5.58 percent compared to November 2021.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in November 2022 reached US$22.99 billion, decreased 1.94 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in October 2022 but increased 6.88 percent compared to November 2021.
  • Cumulatively, Indonesia’s exports from January to November 2022 reached US$268.18 billion, increased 28.16 percent over the same period in 2021. Likewise, non-oil and gas exports reached US$253.61 billion or increased 28.04 percent.
  • The highest decrease of non-oil and gas exports in November 2022 was animal or vegetable fats and oils, in amount of US$577.6 million or decreased 16.62 percent from October 2022. The highest increase was precious metals and jewellery/ precious stones, in amount of US$292.2 million or increased 87.19 percent.
  • By industry classification, exports of manufacturing products during period January–November 2022 increased by 18.59 percent; exports of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries increased by 12.44 percent; and exports of mining and others increased by 74.15 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The main country destinations of non-oil and gas exports in November 2022 were China at US$6.28 billion, United States at US$2.10 billion, and Japan at US$1.90 billion, with the contribution of the three reached 44.73 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) amounted to US$4.25 billion and US$1.55 billion, respectively.
  • According to the province of origin, Indonesia’s largest exports in January– November 2022 came from Jawa Barat with a value of US$35.61 billion (13.28 percent), followed by Kalimantan Timur at US$33.30 billion (12.42 percent) and Jawa Timur at US$22.87 billion (8.53 percent).
B. IMPORTS
  • Imports of Indonesia in November 2022 were worth US$18.96 billion, decreased by 0,91 percent compared with October 2022, and fell by 1,89 percent compared with November 2021.
  • Imports of oil and gas in November 2022 were worth US$2.80 billion, fell by 16,64 percent compared with October 2022, and declined by 7.30 percent compared with November 2021.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in November 2022 were worth US$16.16 billion, increased by 2.45 percent compared with October 2022, yet declined by 0.89 percent compared with November 2021.
  • The most significant decrease in imports of non-oil and gas in November 2022 was cereals, which fell by US$91.6 million (25.28 percent). On the other hand, machinery/mechanical appliances and parts thereof experienced the highest rise with US$222.8 million (8.50 percent) increase.
  • The largest trading partner countries of non-oil and gas imports in January- November 2022 were China US$61.39 billion (34.03 percent), Japan US$15.58 billion (8.64 percent), and Thailand US$10.09 billion (5.60 percent). Imports of nonoil and gas from ASEAN and EU countries were US$30.38 billion (16.84 percent) and US$10.42 billion (5.77 percent), respectively.
  • Compared with the same period last year, the total of Indonesia imports for all broad economics categories in January–November 2022 experienced increases, which consisted of US$333.5 million (1.88 percent) of consumption goods, US$35,079.0 million (26.62 percent) of intermediate goods, and US$7,333.5 million (28.88 percent) of capital goods.
  • Indonesia’s balance of trade in November 2022 experienced a surplus of US$5.16 billion, which mainly affected by a surplus of non-oil and gas of US$6.83 billion. On the other hand, there was a deficit of US$1.67 billion in oil and gas.
