Abstract

  • The poor populati on percentage in March 2022 was 9.54 percent, down 0.17 percentage points from September 2021, and 0.60 percentage points from March 2021.
  • In March 2022, there were 26.16 million poor people. It showed a decrease of 0.34 million people compared to September 2021 and a decrease of 1.38 million people compared to March 2021.
  • In September 2021, the percentage of the poor in urban areas was 7.60 percent, but by March 2022, it had dropped to 7.50 percent. On the other hand, the percentage of the poor in rural areas in September 2021 was 12.53 percent, and it declined to 12.29 percent in March 2022.
  • The number of poor people in urban areas in March 2022 decreased by 0.04 million people from 11.86 million people in September 2021. Meanwhile the number of the poor in rural areas decreased by 0.30 million people, from 14.64 million people in March 2021 to 14.34 million people in September 2021.
  • The poverty line in March 2022 was IDR 505,469.00/capita/month. It is made up of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 374,455.00 (74.08 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 131,014.00 (25.92 percent).
  • In March 2022, poor households in Indonesia had an average of 4.74 household members. Thus, the poverty line per poor household on average is IDR 2,395,923.00/poor household/month.
