In April 2022, international visitors to Indonesia reached 111.06 thousand and the number of international air transport passengers in April 2022 increased by 55.77 percent.

A. Tourism Progress

• In April 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals to Indonesia from the main gates was 111.06 thousand, increased by 499.01 percent compared with April 2021. At the same time, international visitor arrivals in April 2022 increased by 172.27 percent compared with the previous month.
• From January to April 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals was 185,440 dramatically increased by 350.09 percent over the same period in 2021.
• The room occupancy rate of classified hotels in April 2022 was 34.23 percent, slightly decrease 0.40 percentage points from April 2021. Similarly, the room occupancy rate in April 2022 declined by 10.92 percentage points compared with March 2022. Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-classified hotels in April 2022 was 17.40 percent, decrease a 0.59 of percentage points from April 2021 and 4.66 percentage points from March 2022.
• The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at classified hotels during April 2022 was 1.62 days, decrease slightly by 0.10 percentage points from the average length of stay in April 2021. Contrastly, the average length of stay has increased by 0.01 percentage points compared with March 2022.

B. Growth of National Transport

• The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in April 2022 was 3.8 million people and decreased by 4.53 percent compared to March 2022. The number of international air transport passengers increased by 55.77 percent to 292.7 thousand people. During January - April 2022, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 14.5 million people and increased by 49.59 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 666.2 thousand people and increased by 296.78 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
• The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in April 2022 was recorded at 1.4 million people, increasing by 4.11 percent compared to March 2022. The amount of freight transported by domestic sea transport decreased by 2.50 percent, turning into 26.5 million tons. During January - April 2022, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 5.2 million people and increased by 2.03 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, the amount of freight decreased by 0.06 percent, reaching 104.5 million tons.
• The number of railway passengers departing in April 2022 was 19.6 million people, which increased by 0.98 percent when compared to March 2022.Whereas, freight transported by train increased 2.33 percent to 5.2 million tons. The number of passengers reached 69.9 million people during January-April 2022, increasing by 33.01 percent when compared to the same period in 2021. On the other hand, the cumulative amount of freight transported by train rose by 16.33 percent to 18.7 million tons.
