Abstract

A. Tourism Progress

  • In March 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals to Indonesia was 40,790, increased by 206.25 percent compared with March 2021. At the same time, international visitor arrivals in March 2022 increased by 121.02 percent compared with the previous month.
  • From January to March 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals was 74,383 dramatically increased by 228.24 percent over the same period in 2021.
  • The room occupancy rate of classified hotels in March 2022 was 45.15 percent, up 9.08 percentage points from March 2021. Similarly, the room occupancy rate in March 2022 grow up by 6.61 percentage points compared with February 2022. Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-classified hotels in March 2022 was 22.06 percent, increase a 2.04 of percentage points from March 2021 and 0.65 percentage points from February 2022.
  • The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at classified hotelsduring March 2022 was 1.62 days, a decrease slightly at 0.03 percentage points from the average length of stay in March 2021. Likewise, the average length of stay has decreased by 0.01 percentage points compared to February 2022.

B. Growth of National Transport

  • The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in March 2022 was 3.9 million people and increased by 37.17 percent compared to February 2022. The number of international air transport passengers increased by 84.40 percent to 187.9 thousand people. During January–March 2022, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 10.7 million people and increased by 55.56 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 373.5 thousand people and increased by 200.24 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in March 2022 was recorded at 1.3 million people, increasing by 9.65 percent compared to February 2022. The amount of freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 7.36 percent, turning into 27.1 million tons. During January–March 2022, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 3.8 million people and increased by 1.86 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, the amount of freight decreased by 0.59 percent, reaching 78.1 million tons.
  • The number of railway passengers departing in March 2022 was 19.4 million people, which increased by 48.76 percent when compared to February 2022. Whereas, freight transported by train increased 19.54 percent to 5.1 million tons. The number of passengers reached 50.2 million people during January–Maret 2022, increased by 33.40 percent when compared to the same period in 2021. On the other hand, the cumulative amount of freight transported by train rose by 14.16 percent to 13.5 million tons.
