Abstract

A. Tourism Progress

  • In February 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals to Indonesia was 18,455, increased by 151.98 percent compared with February 2021. At the same time, international visitor arrivals in February 2022 increased by 21.91 percent compared with the previous month.
  • From January to February 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals was 33,593 increased by 259.59 percent over the same period in 2021.
  • The room occupancy rate of classified hotels in February 2022 was 38.54 percent, up 6.14 percentage points from February 2021. Contrastly, the room occupancy rate in February 2022 fell by 3.89 percentage points compared with January 2022. Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-classified hotels in February 2022 was 21.41 percent, increase an 1.79 of percentage points from February 2021 and 1.39 percentage points from January 2022.
  • The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at classified hotels during February 2022 was 1.63 days, a decrease slightly at 0.03 percentage points from the average length of stay in February 2021. Contrastly, the average length of stay has increased by 0.03 percentage points compared to January 2022.

B. Growth of National Transport

  • The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in February 2022 was 2.9 million people and decreased by 26.15 percent compared to January 2022. The number of international air transport passengers increased by 21.74 percent to 101.9 thousand people. During January–February 2022, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 6.8 million people and increased by 59.52 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 185.6 thousand people and increased by 121.74 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in February 2022 was recorded at 1.2 million people, decreasing by 7.38 percent compared to January 2022. The amount of freight transported by domestic sea transport decreased by 1.39 percent, turning into 25.3 million tons. During January–February 2022, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 2.5 million people and increased by 1.46 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, the amount of freight decreased by 1.21 percent, reaching 50.9 million tons.
  • The number of railway passengers departing in February 2022 was 13.1 million people, which decreased by 26.33 percent compared to January 2022. Whereas, freight transported by train increased 1.73 percent to 4.2 million tons. The number of passengers reached 30.8 million people during January–February 2022, increased by 31.75 percent compared to the same period in 2021. On the other hand, the cumulative amount of freight transported by train rose by 10.28 percent to 8.4 million tons.
