Abstract

  • FTT is ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In February 2022, na􏰀onal FTT was 108.83 or increased by 0.15 percent compared with January 2022. The increase of FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.26 percent higher than the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.11 percent.
  • In February 2022, Riau Province experienced the highest increase of FTT at 2.50 percent. On the other hand, Sumatera Utara Province had the highest decrease of FTT at 0.72 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in February 2022 decreased by 0.01 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the decrease in food, beverage, and tobacco expenditure group and information, communication, and financial service expenditure group.
  • Natonally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 108.53 in February 2022 or decreased by 0.12 percent compared with January 2022.
  • Dried harvested grain (GKP) price at the farmer level decreased by 3.20 percent and the price of premium quality rice at huller level increased by 0.03 percent.
  • There were 1,408 paddy sales transactions recorded in 27 provinces during February 2022. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 62.15 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 22.30 percent, and the other quality 15.55 percent.
  • During February 2022, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp4,849 per kg, or decreased by 3.20 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in the previous month. Likewise, the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp4,962 per kg, or decreased by 3.03 percent. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp5,449 per kg, or increased by 1.11 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp5,568 per kg, or increased by 1.21 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp4,454 per kg, or decreased by 5.47 percent. While at the huller level was Rp4,543 per kg, or decreased by 5.82 percent.
  • Compared to February 2021, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in February 2022 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality paddy increased by 1.91 percent, 2.43 percent, and 2.62 percent, respectively. Likewise, at the huller level, the average price of paddy in February 2022 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality paddy increased by 2.04 percent, 2.52 percent, and 2.15 percent, respectively.
  • In February 2022, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,118 observations from 884 milling businesses.
  • Compared to the previous month, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,827 per kg, or increased by 0.03 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,359 per kg, or decreased by 0.24 percent. The average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,062 per kg, or increased by 0.26 percent.
  • Compared to February 2021, the average price of rice at the huller level for premium quality increased by 0.56 percent. Meanwhile, the medium and other quality fell by 0.30 percent and 0.92 percent, respectively.
