Abstract

Indonesia’s economy in 2021, as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current market prices, reached IDR 16,970.8 trillion, and GDP per capita reached IDR62.2 million or US$4,349.5.
Indonesia’s economy in 2021 grew 3.69 percent, higher than the achievement in 2020, which experienced a growth contraction of 2.07 percent. The highest growth on the production side was Human Health and Social Work Activities at 10.46 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure side, Exports of Goods and Services component experienced the highest growth at 24.04 percent.
Indonesia’s economic growth increased by 5.02 percent (y-on-y) in the fourth quarter of 2021, compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. The highest growth on the production side was Human Health and Social Work Activities at 12.16 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure side, Exports of Goods and Services component experienced the highest growth at 29.83 percent.
Indonesia’s economy in the fourth quarter of 2021 grew by 1.06 percent (q-to-q), compared to the previous quarter. Public Administration and Defence; Compulsory Social Security experienced the highest growth at 22.20 percent, on the production side. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure side, General Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GGFCE) component experienced the highest growth at 33.00 percent.
By 2021, the group of provinces on the island of Java has largely influenced the spatial structure of Indonesia’s economy, which contributed 57.89 percent to the economy and economic performance, which grew by 3.66 percent.
