Abstract

  • FTT is ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In January 2022, national FTT was 108.67 or increased by 0.30 percent compared with that in December 2021. The increase of FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.81 percent higher than the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.50 percent.
  • In January 2022, Aceh Province experienced the highest increase of FTT at 1.74 percent. On the other hand, Sulawesi Barat Province had the highest decrease of FTT at 1.93 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in January 2022 increased by 0.45 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in all of the indexes of expenditure groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 108.65 in January 2022 or increased by 0.12 percent compared with December 2021.
  • Dried harvested grain (GKP) price at the farmer level increased by 4.96 percent and the price of premium quality rice at huller level increased by 1.57 percent
  • There were 1,321 paddy sales transactions recorded in 27 provinces during January 2022. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 57.61 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 26.95 percent, and the other quality 15.44 percent.
  • During January 2022, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp5,010 per kg, or increased by 4.96 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in the previous month. Likewise, the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp5,117 per kg, or increased by 4.94 percent. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp5,389 per kg, or increased by 6.41 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp5,502 per kg, or increased by 6.39 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp4,712 per kg, or increased by 9.51 percent. While at the huller level was Rp4,824 per kg, or increased by 9.86 percent.
  • Compared to January 2021, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in January 2022 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality paddy increased by 1.80 percent, 1.34 percent, and 5.22 percent, respectively. Likewise, at the huller level, the average price of paddy in January 2022 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality paddy increased by 1.81 percent, 1.29 percent, and 5.26 percent, respectively.
  • In January 2022, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,133 observations from 881 milling businesses.
  • Compared to the previous month, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,824 per kg, or increased by 1.57 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,381 per kg, or increased by 2.77 percent. The average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,038 per kg, or increased by 1.68 percent.
  • Compared to January 2021, the average price of rice at the huller level for premium and the other quality increased by 0.45 percent and 0.02 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the medium quality fell by 0.25 percent.
