Abstract

The number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in September 2021 reached 126.51 thousand visits. Meanwhile, the TPK for star classification hotels reached 36.64 percent.
  • The number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in September 2021 reached 126.51 thousand visits; decreased by 15.08 percent compared to the number of visits in September 2020. However, when compared to August 2021, the number of foreign tourist visits in September 2021 increased by 1.41 percent.
  • From January to September 2021, the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia reached 1.19 million visits, down by 67.00 percent when compared to the number of foreign tourists visiting in the same period in 2020 .
  • Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star classification hotels in Indonesia in September 2021 reached 36.64 percent, an increase of 4.52 points compared to the TPK in September 2020. The TPK in September 2021 also experienced a decline the increase was quite high, which was 11.57 points compared to the previous month's TPK.
  • The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at star-class hotels during September 2021 was recorded at 1.59 days; decreased by 0.14 points compared to the average length of stay in September 2020.
The number of domestic air transport passengers in September 2021 increased by 84.04 percent.
  • The number of domestic air transportation passengers departing in September 2021 is 2.0 million people, an increase of 84.04 percent compared to August 2021. The number of passengers destined for overseas (international) has increased by 7, 62 percent to 48.0 thousand people. During January-September 2021, the number of domestic passengers was 19.7 million people, down 16.50 percent, and the number of international passengers was 404.6 thousand people, or down 88.49 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
  • The number of domestic sea transportation passengers departing in September 2021 was recorded at 1.2 million people, an increase of 11.29 percent compared to August 2021. The number of goods transported rose 0.23 percent to 25.9 million tons. During January-September 2021, the number of passengers reached 11.1 million people, an increase of 4.44 percent compared to the same period in 2020, while the number of goods transported rose 5.93 percent or reached 233.8 million tons.
  • The number of train passengers departing in September 2021 was 9.6 million people, an increase of 46.83 percent compared to August 2021. Similar to the number of passengers, the number of goods transported by trains experienced a an increase of 2.48 percent to 4.8 million tons. During January–September 2021, the number of passengers reached 103.8 million people, a decrease of 29.39 percent compared to the same period in 2020. The number of goods transported by trains increased by 8.95 percent to 39.1 million tons.
