Abstract

• In August 2021, the National General Wholesale Price Index (IHPB) rose by 0.09 percent against July 2021. The highest increase in the IHPB occurred in the Mining and Quarrying Sector by 1.11 percent.

• Some commodities that experienced price increases in August 2021 include palm oil, carrots, cabbage/cabbage, coal, cooking oil, and herbicides.

• The change in IHPB in the 2021 calendar year is 1.66 percent and the year-on-year change in IHPB is 2.88 percent.

• IHPB Building/Construction Materials in August 2021 increased by 0.27 percent compared to the previous month, partly due to the increase in commodity prices for iron-concrete, building foundation stones, sand, goods made of aluminum metal ready to be installed for buildings, and building materials made of zinc.
