Abstract

  • Information and Communication Technology Development Index (IP-ICT) is a standard measure that can describe the level of information and communication technology development of a region, the digital divide, and the potential for ICT development.
  • IP-TIK is composed of 11 indicators which are combined into 3 sub-indexes, namely access and infrastructure sub-index, usage sub-index, and expertise sub-index.
  • The IP-ICT scale is in the range 0–10, the higher the index value indicates the development of ICT in a region is growing rapidly, and vice versa, the lower the index value indicates the development of ICT in a region is still relatively slow.
  • The Indonesian ICT Development Index (IP-TIK) 2020 reached 5.59, an increase compared to the 2019 IP-TIK which was 5.32.
  • The increase in IP-TIK 2020 was driven by the achievement of the three sub-indices, namely: (1) the access and ICT infrastructure sub-index that reflects Indonesia's ICT readiness of 5.67; (2) the usage sub-index that reflects the level of use of ICT in Indonesia reaches 5.34; and (3) the skill sub-index that reflects the skills needed in ICT in Indonesia reaches 5.92.
  • The provincial level IP-TIK in general has increased from 2019 to 2020. The province with the highest IP-TIK in 2020 is DKI Jakarta, which is 7.46 while the province with the lowest IP-TIK is Papua, which is 3.35.
