Abstract

EXPORT
  • The value of Indonesia's exports in July 2021 reached US$17.70 billion, down 4.53 percent compared to exports in June 2021. Compared to July 2020, the value of exports rose 29.32 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in July 2021 reached US$16.71 billion, down 3.46 percent compared to June 2021, but up 28.26 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in July 2020.
  • Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports from January to July 2021 reached US$120.57 billion, an increase of 33.94 percent over the same period in 2020, as well as non-oil and gas exports which reached US$113.77 billion, an increase of 33.17 percent.
  • The largest decline in non-oil and gas exports in July 2021 compared to June 2021 occurred in iron and steel of US$409.5 million (20.56 percent), while the largest increase occurred in animal/vegetable fats and oils of US$614.0 million (32.42 percent).
  • By sector, non-oil and gas exports from the processing industry in January-July 2021 rose 31.36 percent compared to the same period in 2020, as well as exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products rose 8.72 percent and exports of mining and other products rose 49.13 percent.
  • The largest non-oil and gas exports in July 2021 were to China at US$3.57 billion, followed by the United States at US$2.02 billion and Japan at US$1.19 billion, with the contribution of the three reaching 40.57 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) amounted to US$3.18 billion and US$1.55 billion, respectively.
  • According to the province of origin, Indonesia's largest exports in January–July 2021 came from West Java with a value of US$18.61 billion (15.44 percent), followed by East Java at US$12.93 billion (10.72 percent) and East Kalimantan at US$10. .88 billion (9.02 percent) .

IMPOR
  • The value of Indonesia's imports in July 2021 reached US$15.11 billion, down 12.22 percent compared to June 2021 or up 44.44 percent compared to July 2020.
  • Oil and gas imports in July 2021 were worth US$1.78 billion, down 22.28 percent compared to June 2021 or up 86.39 percent compared to July 2020.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in July 2021 were valued at US$13.33 billion, down 10.67 percent compared to June 2021 or up 40.21 percent compared to July 2020.
  • The largest decline in imports of non-oil and gas categories in July 2021 compared to June 2021 was machinery and mechanical equipment of US$422.3 million (18.39 percent). Meanwhile, the largest increase was pharmaceutical products of US$185.9 million (66.67 percent).
  • The three largest suppliers of imported non-oil and gas goods during January–July 2021 were China US$29.71 billion (32.00 percent), Japan US$7.69 billion (8.28 percent), and South Korea US$5.08 billion (5, 47 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from ASEAN were US$16.63 billion (17.91 percent) and the European Union US$5.81 billion (6.26 percent).
  • By category of use of goods, the value of imports from January to July 2021 against the same period the previous year saw an increase in consumption goods of US$ 2,129.9 million (25.70 percent), raw/auxiliary materials US$ 20,385.2 million (33.91 percent), and capital goods US$2,271.7 million (17.53 percent).
  • Indonesia's trade balance in July 2021 experienced a surplus of US$ 2.59 billion, mainly from the non-oil and gas sector of US$ 3.38 billion. Meanwhile, in the oil and gas sector, there was a deficit of US$0.79 billion.
