Abstract

In 2020, the rice harvested area will be 10.66 million hectares with a production of 54.65 million tons of GKG. If converted into rice, rice production in 2020 will reach 31.33 million tons.

• The rice harvested area in 2020 is 10.66 million hectares, a decrease of 20.61 thousand hectares or 0.19 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 10.68 million hectares.

• Rice production in 2020 amounted to 54.65 million tons of milled dry unhulled rice (GKG), an increase of 45.17 thousand tons or 0.08 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 54.60 million tons of GKG.

• When viewed from the subround, there was an increase in rice production in the subround for May-August and September-December 2020, namely 1.14 million tons of GKG or 6.04 percent and 2.68 million tons of GKG, respectively, or 22.54 percent compared to the same period in 2019. The decline only occurred in the January – April 2020 sub-round, which was 3.78 million tons of GKG or 15.91 percent compared to the January-April 2019 subround.

• If converted into rice for the population's food consumption, rice production in 2020 will amount to 31.33 million tons, an increase of 21.46 thousand tons or 0.07 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 31.31 million tons.

• Potential rice production in the January-April 2021 subround is estimated at 25.37 million tons of GKG, an increase of 5.37 million tons or 26.88 percent compared to the same subround in 2020 which was 19.99 million tons of GKG
