Abstract

  • In September 2019, the Non-Oil General Oil and Gas Wholesale Price Index (IHPB) or wholesale / agent price index fell by 0.36 percent from the previous month. The highest decrease in wholesale price index occurred in the Agriculture Sector by 1.88 percent.
  • Some commodities that experienced price declines in September 2019 include red chillies, cayenne pepper, chicken, tomatoes, chicken meat, tin, as well as plastics and goods made from imported plastics.
  • Building Material / Construction wholesale price index in September 2019 increased by 0.09 percent compared to the previous month, partly due to the increase in commodity prices for uruk, adobe, cement, gravel and natural sirtu, and split / broken stones.
  • General wholesale price index fell 0.32 percent in August 2019 against the previous month. The Export Goods Group was the dominant contributor to the decline in the wholesale price index, which was negative 0.24 percent.
  • Imports of the wholesale price index Goods and Export Goods Group in August 2019 decreased by 0.77 percent and 1.19 percent respectively over the previous month.
