Human development in Indonesia continues to progress. In 2018, Indonesia's Human Development Index (HDI) reached 71.39. This figure increased by 0.58 points or grew by 0.82 percent compared to 2017.
Babies born in 2018 have hopes of living up to 71.20 years, 0.14 years longer than those born the previous year.
Children who were 7 years old in 2018 had hopes of enjoying 12.91 years of education (Diploma I), 0.06 years longer than those of the same age in 2017.
The population aged 25 years and above on average has studied for 8.17 years (class IX), 0.07 years longer than the previous year.
In 2018, the Indonesian people meet their needs with an average per capita expenditure of 11.06 million rupiah per year, an increase of 395 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year's expenditure.
