Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the index of prices received by farmers (It) against the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs. The higher the NTP, the stronger the ability / purchasing power of farmers is relatively stronger.
  • The national NTP for March 2019 was 102.7, down 0.21 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The decline in NTP was due to the Farmer Accepted Price Index (It) which rose by 0.02 percent, greater than the decline in the Farmer Paid Price Index (Ib) of 0.23 percent.
  • In March 2019, DKI Jakarta Province NTP experienced the highest decline (2.43 percent) compared to the decline in other provincial NTPs. In contrast, the Sulawesi Tenggara Province NTP experienced the largest increase (1.41 percent) compared to the increase in other provincial NTPs.
  • In March 2019 there was rural inflation in Indonesia of 0.33 percent, caused by a increase in the index in all the groups composing food expenditure.
  • The national Agricultural Household Exchange (NTUP) value for March 2019 was 111.14 or fell 0.04 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
  • Out of 2,135 grain sales transactions in 28 provinces during March 2019, 69.04 percent of dry harvested rice (GKP), 8.99 percent of dry grain (GKG), and 21.97 percent of low quality grain were recorded.
  • During March 2019, the average price of GKP at the farm level was Rp. 4,604.00 per kg, down 9.98 percent and at the grinding level Rp. 4,706.00 per kg or down 9.87 percent compared to the same quality grain price at February 2019. The average price of GKG at the farm level is Rp. 5,530.00 per kg, down 5.11 percent and at the grinding level Rp. 5,654.00 per kg or down 5.01 percent. The price of low quality grain at the farm level is Rp. 4,296.00 per kg, down 6.93 percent and at the grinding level Rp. 4,393.00 per kg or down 6.95 percent.
  • Compared to March 2018, the average price in March 2019 at the farm level for all qualities, namely GKP, GKG, decreased by 3.22 percent, 1.63 percent respectively and low quality grain increase 1.62 percent. Likewise at the grinding level, the average price in March 2019 for all qualities, namely GKP, GKG, also decreased by 2.87 percent, 1.61 percent respectively and low quality grain increase 1.78 percent.
  • In March 2019, the average price of premium quality rice in the mill was Rp. 9,815.00 per kg, down by 1.93 percent compared to the previous month. The average price of medium quality rice in the mill is IDR 9,555.00 per kg, down by 2.49 percent. While the average price of low quality rice in the mill is Rp. 9,271.00 per kg, down by 2.15 percent.
  • Compared to March 2018, the average price of rice in the mill in March 2019 for all qualities, namely premium, medium and low decreased by 0.79 percent, 1.47 percent and 2.96 percent respectively.
