Abstract

  • As of September 2018, the level of inequality in Indonesian population expenditure as measured by the National Ratio is 0.384. This decreases by 0.005 points if compared to the March 2018 Gini Ratio which is 0.389. Meanwhile, when compared with the September 2017 Gini Ratio which is 0, 391 decreases by 0.007 points. The September 2018 Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.384
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2018 is 0.391, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2018 which is 0.401 and the Gini Ratio for September 2017 which is 0.404.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2018 was 0.319, down from the March 2018 Gini Ratio of 0.324 and the September 2017 Gini Ratio of 0.320.
  • Based on the size of the World Bank's inequality, the distribution of expenditures to 40 groups below is 17.47 percent. This means that population expenditure in September 2018 is in the low level of inequality category. If broken down by region, in the urban area it is recorded at 16.79 percent which means it belongs to the category of moderate inequality. While for rural areas, the number of percentages is 20.43 percent, which is classified as low in the lowest category.
