Abstract

The number of foreign tourists or tourists visiting Indonesia in August 2018 is up 8.44 percent compared to the number of visits in August 2017, from 1.39 million visits to 1.51 million visits. Meanwhile, when compared to July 2018, the number of foreign tourists visiting in August 2018 decreased by 1.93 percent.
Cumulatively (January-August 2018), the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia reached 10.58 million visits, up 12.30 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists visiting the same period in 2017 which amounted to 9.42 million visits.
Star Class Hotel Occupancy Rate (TPK) in Indonesia in August 2018 reached an average of 60.01 percent or increased 2.01 points compared to the August 2017 TPK which was recorded at 58.00 percent. Similarly, if compared to the July 2018 TPK, the hotel TPK star classification in August 2018 has increased by 0.71 points.
The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests in a star classification hotel during August 2018 was recorded at 1.94 days, a decrease of 0.03 points compared to the conditions in August 2017.
