Abstract

"The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November 2011 was 129.18 or inflated 0.34 percent from October 2011 at 128.74. In November 2011, the changes of each expenditure group as follows: the foodstuff increased from 149.45 to 150.33 or inflated 0.59 percent; the prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco increased from 137.61 to 137.88 or inflated 0.20 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel increased from 123.33 to 123.60 or inflated 0.22 percent; the clothing increased from 134.25 to 136.08 or inflated 1.36 percent; the health increased from 120.38 to 120.58 or inflated 0.17 percent; the education, recreation and sport increased from 123.80 to 123.85 or inflated 0.04 percent, and the transportation, communication and financial services increased from 107.85 to 107.99 or inflated 0.13 percent.

The inflation in November 2011 was mainly caused by price increases of several commodities, i.e.: gold accessories, red chili, rice, purebred chicken eggs, beef, corn, tomato (vegetable), tomato (fruit), small chili, filter cigarette, leasing house fee, rental house fee, household fuel, and passenger plane fare. Meanwhile, the prices of the following commodities were decreased, i.e.: fresh fish, spinach, kangkung (kind of leafy vegetable), cucumber, red onion, and garlic."
