Abstract

Production of paddy in year 2003 (third forecast) is predicted to reach 51.85 million tons, which increases by 0.70 per cent over the production in 2002.
Production of maize in year 2003 (third forecast) is predicted to be 10.82 million tons, which rises significantly by 12.08 per cent over the 2002 production. Meanwhile, production of soybeans is predicted to reach 0.68 million tons, which increases slightly by 0.66 per cent over the 2002 production.
The increase in production of paddy, maize and soybean in 2003 was mainly due to the increase in productivity. The productivity increase then, is predicted to be affected by the program of Peningkatan Mutu Intensifikasi (PMI) which undertaken with subsidiary on seed and balanced fertilizer.
