Abstract

The number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia through 13 points of entry in July 2003 increased to 365.0 thousand people or rose by 21.71 per cent over the June 2003 figure as high as 299.9 thousand people.
In July 2003, the number of railway passengers accounted to 14.0 million people, rose by 10.56 per cent compared to the figure in June 2003, meanwhile the railway freight transportation was calculated at 1.35 million tons or slightly increased by 0.8 per cent. In cumulative January - July 2003 period, the number of passengers accounted to 87.3 million people and the number of cargo was recorded at 9.02 million tons, both declined by 17.40 per cent and 10.48 per cent respectively, over the same period in 2002.
