CPI and The Inflation Rate In June 2003 was 0.09%

Abstract

June 2003, was marked with 0.09 per cent of inflation. Based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded in 43 cities, inflation was experienced in 23 cities, while deflation happened in 10 cities. The highest inflation was in Jayapura (1.76 per cent), whilst the lowest inflation was in Lhokseumawe and Bandar Lampung (0.05 per cent). Meanwhile, the biggest deflation was experienced in Ambon (-1.17 per cent) and the smallest inflation happened in Jakarta (-0.03 per cent).
The inflation was contributed by the increase in the prices of some goods and services groups as follows: prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco products (0.18 per cent), housing (0.91 per cent), clothing (0.29 per cent), health (0.19 per cent), education, recreation and sports (0.15 per cent) and transportation & communication (0.13 per cent). Meanwile, unprepared food experienced a decrease as high as minus 0.82 per cent.
