Abstract

The number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia through 13 points of entry in December 2001 accounted to 310 thousand, increased by 1.93 % compared to the figures in the previous month (304 thousand people).
The volume of cargo loading carried by Inter Island transportation in December 2001 reached 17.56 million tons, a decrease of 3.96 % compared to the data in the previous month. Meanwhile, the number of outgoing passengers accounted to 1.46 million or increased by 12.57 %. The shift and change between cargo loading (decrease) and the number of passenger (increase) is common entering Idul Fitri, Christmas and New Year seasons.
