BPS and the Ministry of Home Affairs Strengthen Regional Synergy for the Success of SE2026

July 3, 2026 | BPS Activities

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Ministry of Home Affairs signed a Joint Circular regarding the Coordination between Local Governments and Statistics Indonesia for the Implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) in Jakarta (15/6). This signing marks a strategic step toward strengthening collaboration among the central government, local governments, and BPS to ensure the successful execution of SE2026 across Indonesia.

During a dissemination session addressed to regional heads at the National Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control, the Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, emphasized that SE2026 is a major national agenda conducted every ten years. The results of this census will serve as the most up-to-date and comprehensive economic database, which can be utilized as a foundational framework for formulating more accurately targeted, data-driven development policies.

Through the synergy reinforced by this Joint Circular, local governments are expected to support the socialization, facilitate data collection, and coordinate the implementation of SE2026 within their respective regions. With the support of all stakeholders, SE2026 is anticipated to generate high-quality economic data, establishing a crucial foundation for the future development and strengthening of the Indonesian economy.
