BPS and IBGE Establish Partnership

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) witnessed by the President of Republic Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto and the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta (23/10). Given the importance of this international collaboration, both institutions are committed to exploring cooperation in the field of statistics through various forms, including the Exchange of Expertise and Best Practices, Statistical Education, Capacity Building, and Technology Collaboration.

This MoU is an important milestone in strengthening bilateral relations in the field of statistics between Indonesia and Brazil, both of which are members of the BRICS world economic forum. Through this cooperation, BPS and IBGE are expected to support each other in developing statistical innovations, strengthening institutional capacity, and producing more accurate and relevant data to support data-based policy formulation at the national and global levels.
