Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and Chairman of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), Noor Achmad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BPS and Baznas on aligning Baznas data with the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) on August 29. “This MoU is an important and positive step for both institutions,” said Noor Achmad at the event.
During the signing, which took place at the 2025 Baznas National Coordination Meeting, Amalia emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two institutions. As the national zakat management body, Baznas holds highly relevant and strategic socioeconomic data. Therefore, aligning Baznas data with DTSEN is essential to ensure inter-agency data synchronization. This integration will strengthen the accuracy and effectiveness of data-driven policymaking.
“For BPS, cooperation with Baznas provides a valuable source of additional data that enriches the content and scope of DTSEN during data collection. The data obtained will accelerate the updating process and ensure the relevance of the information available in the system,” Amalia continued.
This initiative represents an effort to build a stronger national data ecosystem that benefits all members of society. The collaboration between BPS and Baznas serves as a tangible example of inter-agency synergy in establishing a foundation for equitable policymaking. The success of DTSEN does not rest on a single institution alone, but rather on a shared commitment to exchange, strengthen, and trust in data as a strategic national asset.
Through this collaboration, BPS reaffirms its commitment to consistently providing quality, inclusive, and impactful data for society. The synergy with Baznas marks an important step in ensuring that every data-driven policy can effectively address the nation’s needs.
At the same forum, Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) was also invited as a speaker in the Ministerial Talks, presenting the topic of “Poverty and Inequality Trends in Indonesia from the Perspective of Strengthening National Zakat Policy.”
