Jakarta - "It takes full awareness from the public to want an independent census. To what extent can the government maintain data security? This time FMB9 raised the theme "SP2020 Satu Data Indonesia", held at the Ministry of Communication and Information Building, Jakarta, (13/2).

FMB9 itself is an official government forum in delivering strategic information, cross-sectoral policies, and clarification of issues developing in the community. Secretary of the Director General of Population and Civil Registry of the Ministry of Home Affairs, I Gede Suratha started by giving a high appreciation to BPS who gave confidence in population data as the basic data used in the implementation of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020). "We show that commitment by submitting population data on November 25 last year. Nearly 266 million have been submitted to BPS, "he admitted.

The BPS itself was represented by Deputy for Social Statistics, Margo Yuwono, explaining the benefits of the census in addition to knowing the number, characteristics, distribution, and composition of the population can also be used as population projections that so far have been carried out by BPS and Bappenas. "All aspects of planning are the main information from population data. If the population data is not good, then all aspects of planning are less than optimal, "said Margo.

From the planning side, Deputy for Population and Labor, Pungky Sumadi from Bappenas said the need for a population data. "This is a huge breakthrough (SP2020, red). We have detected more than 15 years ago about the need for one data. What's interesting is when the data is ready and returned to Dukcapil, how do we use census data for future planning, "said Pungky.

As a statement supporting the implementation of SP2020, I Gede Suratha also informed that there would be a circular from the Ministry of Home Affairs. "When submitting the data, all Dukcapil in 514 regencies / cities in Indonesia plus 34 Provincial Dukcapil expressed their support to BPS in SP2020," he said steadily. Margo also added his message to the media crew, "The key to the success of SP2020 is community participation. Hayuk, together we voiced to this country that any information is important, "he concluded.
