President Invites All Residents to Succeed SP2020

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo fully supports the implementation of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020). The statement was made clearly in the Declaration of Implementation of the 2020 Population Census at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (01/24).

"I order all Ministries / Institutions, including regional governments, to provide full support in the implementation of the Population Census," said the President.

On this occasion, again played _theme song_ SP2020 titled _'Trecording Indonesia'_ by Indonesian musician, Eross Candra. "Can anyone sing the song again? If it's true I'll give the bicycle later," joked the number one person in Indonesia.

The President also stated that valid and accurate data is the key for policies to run on target.

To succeed SP2020 which will produce basic population data, Kecuk Suhariyanto, Head of BPS said in his report, "One of the key factors for the success of SP2020 is community participation."

To note, participation in SP2020 can be done in 2 ways, namely through the Online Population Census by accessing census.bps.go.id from 15 February to 31 March 2020. Or accept the arrival of census officers, 1 to 31 July 2020.

Also present at the handling was the head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa and the Indonesian Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Anung.
