Denpasar - The movement of the young pendet dancers welcomed the arrival of the Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif, and Deputy for Social Statistics BPS, Margo Yuwono. The presence of the two important population figures was welcomed by the Chair of the Statistical Society Forum (FMS), Bustanul Arifin in the FMS Workshop entitled "Towards One Population Data", afternoon (10/7). Attended by FMS members in the population working group, all District / City BPS Heads in the Bali Province, Bali Provincial Dukcapil staff, as well as a number of related institutions, the workshop presented systematic exposure by data owners, represented by Zudan and Margo, as well as data users represented by the Head of Demography Institute of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, Turro Selrits Wongkaren and economic development researcher Udayana University, IGW Murjana Yasa.

Head of the BPS Province of Bali, Adi Nugroho, in his speech said that Bali Province was fortunate to be chosen as one of the historical actors in population data collection. Data from the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) that uses the Dukcapil database according to him will be shared property, government and society. It is different from the opinion of the community so far that they assume that population data belongs to the government alone. "If each has good data, it would be better if you have one good data used together. Let's invite the community to conduct an online census, so they know what the benefits and importance of their data are," he said .

Adi's opinion was echoed by Zudan. He called for the discrepancy of BPS and Dukcapil data at the national level to be increasingly minimal. The remaining difference reached 170 thousand entries in 2018 when compared with BPS population projection data. He also assured that the Single Identity Number was a solution to avoid the existence of multiple-population and prolonged polemics in the community. "Many other institutions have used Dukcapil data. Police, Bappeda, Immigration, and so on. Even for zoning, Dukcapil data is used as one of the basic determinations," he assured. He also claimed that he would provide full support to BPS by providing access to the Dukcapil data as soon as the relevant Presidential regulation was signed.

"The perpetrators of history are not us sir, but BPS and Dukcapil," said Bustanul Arifin when giving a conclusion to close the workshop. He thanked the support of the Bali Provincial Government, especially Jembrana Regency, which he said was extraordinary. Previously, (9/7), FMS had the opportunity to visit Sangkaragung Village, one of the locations for the SP2020 Net Performance.
