Data Source

Coverage and methodology

Paddy producer price monitoring is conducted in 25 provinces (except Kepulauan Riau, South Sumatera, Bengkulu, Bangka Belitung, DKI Jakarta, Gorontalo, Maluku, dan North Maluku). The samples area covering 337 subdistricts consist of 243 fix sample subdistricts and 94 mobile sample subdistricts.

The recording was made with two approach systems, which is weekly and monthly periods. Recording period per week is done if the harvest occurs in the selected sample areas. Big harvest season shows that the abundance of rice production, followed by the number of paddy sales by farmers. Information about the harvest is usually based on officer's report in the sub district level. Meanwhile, the monthly recording is made of period at 10-15 per month, which is applied when the harvest ended.

The selected sub district is the one that has a harvested area large enough and has the most advantage production that can be sold (marketable surplus) compared to other regions. In one sub district, three respondents who come from different villages are elected.

Respondents are farmers as a major paddy producer by local standards (three - five farmers) who have the largest sales volume among other farmers in the vicinity. Data recording was made at the time of the sale transaction with quality grains like that.
