System of National Accounts 2008

The Translation of System of National Accounts 2008 into Bahasa Indonesia

It is originated from needs to comprehend how to compile National Accounts, three staffs of BPS-Statistics Indonesia namely Rudiansyah (Translator), Imam R. Djalil (Editor) and Hadi Susanto (co-Editor), had taken initiations to translate System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA 2008) into Bahasa Indonesia as a reference for compiling macro economics indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Supply and Uses Table (SUT) and National Full Sequence of Accounts (FSA). After several corrections, the translation process comes to final.

Institutionally, the availability of this valuable reference in Bahasa Indonesia, is the important working step for BPS-Statistics Indonesia to rely its’ methods and standards for National Accounts Compilation. Accordingly, national macro economics Indicators may fulfill international standardized measurements. SNA 2008 provides a frame work to maintain data consistency and coherency while still increases the relevancy of generated indicators. This may advance the quality of data and facilitates international comparison accordingly.

In July 19, 2012 BPS-Statistics Indonesia officially proposed a permit to translate SNA 2008 to United Nation Statistical Division (UNSD) which then was established into a contract (PB/CON2012/31). It was agreed that the translation into bahasa Indonesia should be up loaded in BPS-Statistics Indonesia official web at last at February 28, 2013. In addition to contract arrangements, this availability electronic file in the web was also designed as an effort to perform our national statistical coordination function and as a contribution to international users speaking similar to bahasa Indonesia.

We hope this can be a source of guidance especially for Indonesian statisticians and other users in comprehending System of National Accounts. Suggestions and critics for future improvements are kindly welcome.
Thank you.
