Implementation Of 2008 System Of National Account (SNA) In GDP/GRDP Compilation In The Base Year 20102013-01-23

The Training on Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) and Capital Account, held on 14 to 18 January 2013, was one of co-operation program between BPS-Statistics Indonesia and Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). The program is not focus on National Accounts only but also on labor force surveys, household surveys, and training management, as expressed by Dr. Suhariyanto - Deputy of National Accounts and Statistical Analysis, BPS - at the opening session. The training was attended by approximately sixty participants from Directorate of Production Accounts and Directorate of Expenditure Accounts.

ABS provides technical assistance in training and workshop of compilation of Supply and Use Table (SUT) and Full Sequence of Accounts (FSA) as part of the preparation of 2008 SNA implementation. Which is targeted be accomplished in 2014. The training on GFCF and Capital Account is a succeeding training of the previous training held in November 2012 on SNA Framework and SUT Concept. The aims of SUT and FSA compilation are to meet UN recommendation on international comparability, and as the benchmark of GDP/GRDP 2010 base year, Input-Output Tables, and other accounts.

The keynote speakers were Mr. Sachin Naidu, Mr. Andrew Tomadini, and Mr Simon Lawier, who gained expertise in financial and capital accounts. At the beginning of the presentation, Mr. Sachin Naidu delivered overview of GFCF, Capital Stock, Capital Account and Balance Sheet and the workshop agenda. Technical presentations was delivered by Mr. Andrew Tomadini that concentrated on private GFCF and Capital Stock. The topic of Public GFCF was presented by Mr. Simon Lawier.

The scheduled co-operation programs during 2013 includes advanced trainings and workshops on GDP Income and SUT Reconciliation System in April, GFCF and Capital Account (continued) in June, and Financial Account and Flow of Funds in November. Through the technical assistance and support from ABS, the national accounts team of BPS is expected to complete the SUT and FSA compilation in accordance with the target.
